The End of Summer: Where Endings and Beginnings Meet

There is something interesting about the end of summer: it is one of those rare times when an ending and a beginning seem to arrive almost at once.

August still carries the rhythm of summer, but our minds are already beginning to shift toward September. Plans return, projects regain momentum, routines pick up again, and there is a sense that something new is beginning to take shape.

Every period of transition brings choices with it.

People join a company at a particular point in its journey, contribute to its story, and at some point may choose a different direction. There are also periods when the company itself changes, reassessing its pace, its priorities, and the way it wants to move forward.

These shifts are a natural part of any structure that continues to evolve. People change, companies change, and not every journey is meant to continue in exactly the same form.

The end of summer illustrates this beautifully. Some stay a little longer, while others leave earlier, as one season naturally gives way to the next. What matters is not preserving the same picture, but being ready for what comes next.

New space is not necessarily empty space

When something changes, our first instinct is often to focus on what is no longer there.

But in any creative process, space serves another purpose: it allows something to emerge that previously had no room to exist. That is why change does not always need to be followed by an attempt to recreate what came before. Sometimes, the more valuable question is: What can we build now that we could not build before?

A new phase carries forward everything learned from the one that came before it: experience, decisions, mistakes, relationships, standards, and knowledge gained along the way.

In this sense, change does not erase the past. It turns it into experience for what comes next.

As Ermal Beqiri, founder of Soft & Solution Group, says:

“After many years, you realize that a company does not move forward by constantly trying to recreate what it once was. You carry forward what worked, learn from the rest, and keep building.”

At Soft & Solution Group, we see change as a natural part of a story that continues to unfold. People, projects, and phases evolve, while the experience gained from each becomes part of what comes next.

Perhaps that is why the end of summer rarely feels entirely like an ending. One season is giving way to another, but our attention is already turning toward what comes next.
